Stroud Valleys Project hits crowdfunding target

Stroud’s people-powered conservation and biodiversity charity, Stroud Valleys Project, has hit its target for a crowdfunding appeal launched last month.

“One hundred people donated to our Big Give Green Match Fund to protect and improve our riverside path in Stroud,” explains SVP’s CEO Clare Mahdiyone.

“We’re so thankful to everyone who donated. Our message was that even the price of a cup of coffee would make a difference. We know times are hard, and as each donation was doubled, large and small amounts are all deeply appreciated.

“Huge thanks to every single person who helped us hit our target of £2,500, which will be doubled by the Big Give to £5,000.”

SVP is still looking for funding for the entirety of the preservation and restoration project, the cost of which is estimated at over £50,000.

“If local businesses are interested in supporting us with this project, please do drop us an email at info@stroudvalleysproject.org or drop into our offices at our eco shop on Threadneedle Street,” adds Clare.

“Waterways are often in the news for the wrong reasons, so it’s lovely to be able to share some positive news!”
