Archaeology of Minchinhampton Common - FULLY BOOKED

Minchinhampton Common has played host to human occupants for thousands of years. Its status as a common has ensured that the signs of this occupation, so often lost on other types of land, has survived.  From prehistoric burial mounds, to remnants of a medieval forest, and even a post-medieval rabbit farm, the evidence if there for all to see – but only if you know where to look!

This is another chance to join Stroud Valleys Project and renowned prehistorian and former Minchinhampton resident Professor Tim Darvill for a delve into the common’s past. As we walk, Tim will talk us through the many visible archaeological features of the common and will share some of its many fascinating stories with us.
